Joey Davis is a Newcastle artist that has years of experience and creates unique custom artwork for your home or business.
As a lover of colour each piece is designed to evoke emotions and capture abstract brush strokes.
Acrylics and oils are always a favourite and in the warmer months resins often make their appearance again.
Joey recently collaborated with the iconic Australian brand Splosh and became their first ever featured artist to design the Talulah homewares range.
Joey painted live on stage for the Ronald McDonald raise love charity ball and raised $7000 from the sale of her pandanus painting.
At got your back sister luncheon recently $3700 was also raised to help women in need.
Joey also runs paint and sip events in your home or workplace and often floats between the art and then the events.
As far as discipline goes I think I need to focus more but the artist in me will always be a wonderer.
I have always worked in hospitality and was a stay at home mum.
The art was always more of a hobby until I started working with a paint and sip company. And then the requests started coming in when covid hit. Everyone was looking at their bare walls. I sold them very cheaply but had purpose because I didn’t even qualify for covid payments.
It’s really just been persistent and never giving up. There have been plenty of knock backs and plenty of fees paid in art competitions.
I’ve been lucky to be a finalist in a local competition and also won a photography competition. Some days I certainly feel like I’ve donated more than I’ve sold but if I can help people with art then I feel that’s a blessing.
I’ve just enrolled in a course and I’m finally working on websites. Some days I feel so introverted and overwhelmed and other days I’m up talking on microphones and running paint and sip for 65 guests.
